Apna Khana
Food is one of the basic necessities of life. Our religion focuses majorly on feeding and helping the poor through various Quranic verses. Once the prophet (P.B.U.H) has reported to have said, “Whoever feeds someone who is hungry will have his sins forgiven.”
Keeping in mind the need of time, this project was started in January 2019, where meals were served twice a day for PKR 20 per meal. This program was beneficial for many and in a short span of time; around 300 meals were being served per day. This program is running successfully till date however due to record breaking increase in inflation, the rates have been increased to PKR 60 per meal and the remaining amount is covered with the help of donations.
Our goal is to increase the number of places where this meal is being served in Karachi. For this purpose we would like to request for additional donors / more donations so that this program can continue to help the hungry who are unable to fulfill their basic necessities.
UNLIKE OTHER PROMINENT NGOS.’ We do not believe in providing FREE FOOD to masses as by doing this people are encouraged to become freeloaders and this idea also discourages them to struggle to fulfill their needs. We only want to provide them with a platform where they can purchase affordable food respectfully.
