As the famous tibeten proverb says, a child without education is like a bird without wings. AT HJP, we believe quality education from grass root level for our kids can bring a revolution in our society. We started this project 18 months ago and initially we chose a school AL QALAM ACADEMY in ORANGI TOWN [A pure poor masses society] where PARENTS / FAMILIES are fighting for their survivals and cannot afford even small/nominal amount of fee for the schooling their children.
In the initial months, through this project, the fee of 10 children were being paid, however currently the fee of 25 children are being paid.
At present, the monthly fee of the school is PKR 800, and after mutual agreement with the management of the school, this monthly fee for all parents will be reduced to PKR 400, while our organization will be paying the remaining amount of accumulated monthly fee with the help of donations. The strength of this school is 100 STUDENT / SHIFT.
The management has also agreed to start another shift at school in the afternoon to maximize the number of students. Once this branch would function on its full capacity, we would move forward with our goal, to open more branches, on this same pattern, in other areas where the population is below the poverty line.
The school is striving to provide such education to its pupil that would help them find their place in the society as successful individuals. The main focus in the primary school is to help children learn the first and second language of our country, i.e. English and Urdu. Along with these the children should also have command over numbers. Once the students are comfortable with former mentioned skills, in the secondary stages of the school, the pupil are taught with computing skills and other activities that would help them strengthen their mental skills.
We believe that by the support of donors, this goal can be achieved easily in the upcoming years.
